![]() A US Global Investment Bank - Case studyClient A US Global Investment Bank Project On behalf of our client, 6 Alpha was contracted to develop risk mitigation solutions to limit a potential terrorist threat to a significant high-rise development project in the United States. Risks/Problem The client was a lead investor with a critical stake holding in a jointly funded high rise, high profile re-development project in Manhattan. Whilst the project was forecast to produce a significant financial benefit for all stakeholders, the client was concerned that a range of holistic risks associated proposed redevelopment could generate a business interruption event which might have a significant impact on their day-to-day trading floor operations. The risk profile accounted for construction, and security risks (including terrorism). Our Solution We selected and deployed a handpicked team of risk, construction safety and terrorism experts in order to develop with the client, a holistic risk assessment. By conducting detailed interviews with principle stakeholders and by employing bespoke Business Impact Analysis toolsets, we were able to not only clearly articulate to all stakeholders where they were most likely to be impacted, but to also identify the potential consequences of a range of Business Interruption events for our client and to design a suit of practical risk management options (and click link). Benefits The client experienced the following high level benefits: • Our bespoke Business Impact Analysis tool set enabled, for the first time, our client to benchmark a number of complex risks and to articulate and share those risks in a simple (but not simplistic) fashion, with other key stakeholders.Client feedback
As a direct result of our involvement with this project and the way in which we conducted this assignment, we have been asked by an international property redevelopment development company to apply the same techniques, on a variety of new build and redevelopment schemes.
