6 ALPHA NEWSLETTER
Simon Cooke, Managing Director, 6 Alpha Associates
Hello and welcome to the fourth edition of the 6 Alpha Associates Bulletin. Published once a quarter, the intention of our company newsletter is to help promote and share wider best practice and to highlight some of the activity that my team continue to undertake when managing special project risks. Today’s newsletter goes out at an exciting time for the 6 Alpha Associates team as we enter a new phase of development and growth in our service offering to the terrestrial and marine construction sectors.
CIRIA guide available to buy
In February of this year, 6 Alpha Associates collaborated with Royal HaskoningDHV to jointly author another guide for the Construction Industry Research and Information Association (CIRIA), which has now released offshore UXO best practice guidelines. The guide, entitled Assessment and management of unexploded ordnance (UXO) risk in the marine environment (C754), provides crucial step-by-step guidance for firms operating across the offshore industry.
Announcement: EOD Division launch
On March 1st, 6 Alpha formally launched its dedicated Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) division. The investment in the specialist team follows increasing demand from major UK construction and infrastructure development firms for a more strategic approach to the growing challenge of managing unexploded ordnance (UXO) risks.
