Our Team

  • Simon Cooke: Managing Director

    Simon is the founder and Managing Director at 6 Alpha Associates. Following officer training at the Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst, Simon embarked on a 17-year military career with the Corps of Royal Engineers. Following early command and inter-spaced with other British MoD and NATO appointments, he served a total of four tours of duty, (totalling eight years), with the British Army’s Bomb Disposal Regiment (33 Engineer Regiment EOD).  Qualified as an Advanced level Bomb Disposal Officer, he has served in Bosnia, Kosovo, Macedonia and Afghanistan. On retirement from the Army as a Major, Simon was as appointed as Technical Director with an international humanitarian and EOD risk mitigation company delivering commercial EOD solutions in the UK, EU and middle east.  Equipped with a bachelors and two masters degrees, Simon is an acknowledged expert in UXO and risk management and he was selected as the lead technical author for both of CIRIAs best practice UXO guides.

  • Mark Daubney: General Manager

    Following a short career in the Merchant Navy as an Engineer Officer, Mark served with the British Army as a Commissioned Officer for 33 years and joined 6 Alpha as General Manager in 2017. Mark served with Commando Forces and undertook a number of tours with the British Army Bomb Disposal Regiment (33 Engineer Regiment EOD). A significant proportion of Mark’s Army career was also spent serving with UK Special Forces (UKSF) in a variety of command appointments and specialist roles. He has deployed globally on a variety of military operations including sensitive and discrete tasks in remote and hostile locations. Retiring from the Army as a Lieutenant Colonel, Mark brings a wealth of operational experience to 6 Alpha’s core business, as well as deep vertical expertise in our UXO, security and business resilience sectors.  Mark is responsible for the techncial development of all areas of the business, leading on strategic service delivery.

  • Ben Wilkinson: Operations Manager

    Ben joined 6 Alpha in 2014 as the company’s Operations Manager.  Having served in the Corps of Royal Engineers for 24 years, he retired retired from the Army as Warrant Officer,  Ben is a highly qualified not only as a former British Army Combat Engineer but also as an Advanced Level EOD officer. The core components of Ben’s experience have not only been gained during his military career but subsequently, having supplemented his extensive military and operstional knowledge with more than a decade’s worth of international commercial EOD and mine clearance work.  Ben is acknowledged as an expert instructor, having delivered commercial training in multi-national, multi-cultural and politically sensitive environments. He has the proven knowledge, experience and ability to develop and implement highly effective systems and procedures to manage UXO risks.  Ben he takes the lead in the operstional delivery of solutions in the civil engineering and offshore industries.
